Snowshoeing is a walk in the snow characterised by the use of snowshoes. These are special snowshoes attached to the foot only at the front of the boot, leaving the heels free. One also walks with the aid of snow poles to alternate with walking. Snowshoeing, in fact, is characterised by a movement very similar to cross-country skiing and is easy to practise as it does not require any particular physical preparation.


How it works ?

The night snowshoeing in Courmayeur starts at the meeting point indicated on the map. Different times and routes are provided depending on the level:

  • Tourist Level: suitable for everyone, starts at 5 p.m., has und duration of 2 hours and takes place in the Dolonne area.
  • Hiking Level: starts at 5 p.m., has und duration of 2 hours and takes place in the area of Pussey, Hermitage.
  • Expert Hiking Level: begins at 9 p.m., has a duration of 3 hours and takes place in the Rochefort area in Val Ferret.
After donning snowshoes and poles, a short briefing on the activity and safety rules will follow.
