Hydrospeed is a water sport that originated in France in the late 1950s as swimming in the water following the current. Later, a float of the same name, a small bob, was introduced to protect the athlete from collisions with rocks and to provide a foothold. It is an activity that involves close contact with the water. It is practised, therefore, on water descents equipped with fins, helmet and life jacket.
Hydrospeed in Valsesia starts at 09:00, 12:15 or 15:30 at the meeting point indicated on the map, where you will be given your technical equipment. You will then board the coach that will take you to the boarding point where you will be instructed on the main safety measures and the behaviour to be observed in order to carry out the activity.
The choice of route depends on the flow of the river and the staff will assess which is the best route to take.
You can therefore navigate the River Sesia, which originates from the Monte Rosa glacier at an altitude of 2500 metres and flows into the Po' in Piedmont, the route between Piode and Scopa, the Rapida di Balmuccia, or the integral classic stretch.
Hydrospeed in Valsesia is an activity of medium-high difficulty as it is necessary to be able to swim and have good aquatic skills. This activity is designed for those who have already tackled the activity at least once in a river of similar difficulty. You will, however, be trained by qualified staff who will accompany you throughout the adventure. Children aged 14 and over can also participate.
