Hot Air Balloon Flight in San Colombano al Lambro near Milan

The hot-air balloon is an aircraft consisting of a balloon, which inflates with gas and hot air, and a wicker basket, which houses the passengers. The balloon is lifted vertically thanks to Archimedes' principle, according to which each body receives an upward thrust equal to the weight of its volume. Hot air, therefore, being less dense than atmospheric air, allows the hot air balloon to fly.

The origins of the hot-air balloon go back a long way, to around 220 AD to be precise, when it was used in China to send military signals.

The San Colombano al Lambro balloon flight begins at the meeting point indicated on the map. San Colombano al Lambro (35 km from the centre of Milan) is a former slave of the province of Milan, its territory is in fact completely surrounded by that of the provinces of Lodi and Pavia.

In San Colombano a tasty wine, the only DOC wine in the province of Milan, is produced on the hill named after the town.

After a safety briefing, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a unique panorama: from up there, in fact, you can admire the cities of Piacenza and Pavia, while if you let your gaze wander a little further, you will have the opportunity to contemplate the majesty of the Pre-Alps and the Apennines, in a truly breathtaking play of mountain landscapes. Moreover, in favourable weather conditions, you will even be able to catch a glimpse of the incredible skyline of Milan, with its skyscrapers towering above the city crowd.

The take-off point, as well as the landing point, will be decided by the wind direction, but don't worry: a comfortable all-terrain vehicle will take care of you, accompanying you to the take-off point and picking you up after landing.

During the flight, you will reach an altitude of 500 m, but you will also touch the treetops, in a succession of truly unforgettable emotions.

At the end of the flight there will be a rich aperitif with the tasting of local wines and products, cold meats and cheeses.

After the flight, you will receive the baptism certificate of the first flight signed by the pilot.
