Hot air balloon flight over the Chianti hills, Florence

The hot air balloon is an aircraft composed of a balloon, which inflates with gas and hot air, and a wicker basket that houses the passengers. The vertical lifting of the hot air balloon occurs thanks to Archimedes' principle according to which each body receives an upward thrust of equal intensity to the weight of its volume. Hot air, therefore, being less dense than atmospheric air, allows the hot air balloon to fly.

The origins of the hot air balloon date back to distant times, precisely around 220 AD when in China it was used to send military signals.

Flying in a hot air balloon is an extraordinary experience to share in a group or in a couple that combines relaxation with the thrill of flying over spectacular and unique landscapes.

How it works ?

The hot-air balloon flight over the Chianti hills begins at dawn at the meeting point indicated on the map, near San Casciano Val di Pesa (easily reached along the Florence-Siena motorway).

After a short briefing on how the flight will take place, your adventure begins. You will take off amidst typical Tuscan hillsides rich in vineyards, olive groves, and characteristic villages.

For about an hour, you will be able to admire a dream landscape from above, the multicoloured vineyards and valleys. You will see the beautiful landscapes of the Tuscan countryside.

After landing, you can taste typical local products and toast your adventure with a picnic near the landing site.
