Backcountry skiing lesson in Madonna di Campiglio

Backcountry skiing is a winter sport of Nordic origin that is practiced on flat or hilly groomed trails. Two skiing techniques are distinguished:

1. Classic technique: it is performed using the track laid out on groomed snow, which allows the skier easy ski support and safe guidance when gliding. It is also ideal for those approaching the sport for the first time.
2. Skating technique (or also known as ice-skating technique): one does not proceed in the track, but slides alternately, split toe to toe, on trackless terrain and diagonally to the direction of travel. Ideal, therefore, for those who are already experienced and have mastered the movement.

The equipment needed for backcountry skiing consists of skis and poles. The skis are very light and thin, and the length is based on the skier's weight and level. Only the front of the foot is attached to the ski so that there is more freedom of movement. The poles, on the other hand, are very long, stiff and light to facilitate swinging.

The lesson lasts 1 hour and you can take it in the time range from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.. It is intended for both adults and children, beginners and those who want to improve their technique.

You can choose an individual lesson, a group lesson and a package of lessons, depending on your needs.

You can rent equipment on site (skis, poles and shoes) for 20€ per person.
